Default Problems connecting viewty via USB?

Just got my Viewty a few days ago and everything is great. The only problem I am having is getting the PC Suite software to detect my phone via USB. The phone connects fine in mass storage mode. When I try to connect via USB teh software says it can't find any phone. Anyone experiencing something similar? Any ideas? Thanks!

    Default Usb

I had the same problem with a Sony Ericsson. I fixed it by simply swapping USB-port from time to time. Of course, that requires yo to have more than one on your computer.

USB works fine since I can connect my phone via USB and setting the phone to Mass Storage device. The problem is trying to use the LG PC Suite and it's inability to detect the phone (yes I switched the phone to the Data Service setting)

I had problems too, sometimes the Suite doesnt respond, switching the USB Port on my Laptop solved it. The Suite isnt well programmed.

Sorry for my bad english, its not my native language.

Quick tip for you guys with the USB issue (only notice myself a few weeks ago amid screaming and banging my head off things)...

If you're having LG-Suite > Phone connection issues, check first that NO programs or folders are running in the background on your phone or it will simply refuse to connect and not tell you why - although you do get a 250millisecond message pop up on the phone telling you this...

Hope this is help to some of you

    I had the same problem.
I noticed that if you have any applications open on the phone it will give that problem, so try go back to the main screen before plugging in the cable.

    Default Connection problems

I must admit, this is the most frustrating part of having my Viewty.

I had the same problem when I first bought my phone.

I don,t use the software provided for transfering files. I hav set my phone to MASS STORAGE and connect via my usb cable. This set up means your PC or Lap top recognises your phone as another drive.

From there, just open up the relevent file and drag and drop whatever you want to transfer.

DON,T FORGET YOU MUST USE DIVX CONVERTER BEFORE TRANSFERING VIDEOS.

    Good luck

    Is your usb-port working properly?
I had the same problem, then I switched to another port and it worked fine.

if you're using an expansion card you can use a card reader to transfer file to the card.

It's actually much faster than through the software supplied by lg. I must say for such a nice phone their pc software is shocking.

Make sure you install the pc suite while the phone is not plugged in. Wait until the installation completes then plug in your phone.

I had the same problem and that sorted it out for me.

    Default USB fixes

Had the same problem, from what I've read in other forums, here are a few fixes.

    * Make sure no other applications are running.
    * Connect your USB cable to the back of the pc if you can & not the front/add on card.
    * Make sure the cable is'nt plugged into the phone before you start detecting.
    * Make sure the screen is unlocked when plugging in the USB cable.
    * Connect the phone & start detecting
    * If it still wont connect, change the modem port & the usb port number to higher ones, say 15 and 20.
    * Restart machine & connect again with the steps above.

Its a bit of a long way round but did the trick for me.

    Default Finally PC suite working

After lots of hardships, finally connection to PC suite via USB is working.
When I connect my Viewty Smart to PC using a USB cable, a new drive appears "LGE 3G Mobile" under my computer. There is an executable "USBAutoRun.exe" in this drive. After running this, the PC suite automatically connects to the phone.
